Les solistes ont l’occasion d’afficher leur virtuosité\, tout comme plusieurs des instrumentistes. Mais les vraies étoiles sont les airs exquis\, tels que « Io sperai »\, « Lascia la spina » et « Tu del ciel ministro eletto » à couper le souffle. ’’\nSébastien d’Hérin\, chef d’orchestre \n  \nPremier oratorio de Haendel\, composé peu après son arrivée à Rome\, « Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno » (1707) repose sur l’affrontement de quatre personnages allégoriques : le Temps\, la Désillusion qui s’opposent au Plaisir et à la Beauté.\nTrès différent des grands oratorios de la maturité de Haendel\, celui-ci se signale par son effectif instrumental réduit et son absence de chœur.
