ORCHESTRAL PRACTICE, LYRICAL BAROQUE SPECIALIZATION

Professional training as an orchestral musician

Putting music into practice is an essential part of the training of the seasoned musician. We offer the opportunity to experience a professional lyrical stage within scenic rehearsals. The proposed work is an essential classic of the repertoire: Giulio Cesare by G.F Handel.

Goals

1. Instrumental practice: The individual at the service of the group and at the service of a work

A. Learn to play together and find a common sound in the service of a dramatic work and in professional conditions

B. Learn to tune: the different temperaments

2. Theoretical knowledge:

A. Musicological sources (treatises, etc.)

B. Learn about organology

C. Learn about improvisation and ornamentation

Beneficiaries

Career instrumental artists, young professionals, students in higher music studies (Master 1 and 2)

Confirmed amateurs (Cycle 3 of conservatory studies) who wish to deepen their knowledge of the lyrical baroque repertoire through its theoretical approach and through instrumental practice in professional conditions.

Instruments: strings, bassoons, harpsichords, theorbos

Evaluation

Self-assessment at the start of training

Daily interim assessments

2 performances in front of the group during the training

2 performances in professional conditions at the end of the training

At the end of the course, a written summary is offered to the beneficiary accompanied by all the documents studied.
