Figaro wishes to marry Suzanne. Danger lurks around her. As much and perhaps more than her lover, the young woman uses her talent to defend her cause and that of her peers. The skilful chambermaid strips some of their unjust privileges and gives others their rightful recognition. Suzanne’s Wedding can be discovered from behind the screen, in a joyful intimacy, retracing the story of the Almaviva couple, accompanied by their faithful servants. Roles are exchanged, words are set free and love triumphs, with a mix of classical and popular music, because “It all ends in song”.

Based on Mozart’s opera and Beaumarchais’ play, Suzanne’s Wedding is an original creation whose dramaturgical and musical framework adapts to the chosen performance venues.
Thanks to a light and mobile scenography, the protagonists themselves stage-manage the show and allow the audience to take part in the story.
Carried by the voices of talented young actors from Ensatt and the soloists and musicians of Les Nouveaux Caractères, this show allows us to rediscover Mozart’s sublime and expressive music through the great arias of his opera and to discover the vaudevilles, those short songs integrated into the dialogue, essential for creating the comic and festive atmosphere of Beaumarchais’ play.
Accessible to all, with no age limit.
Duration : approximately one hour.
Les Nouveaux Caractères also offers mediation and artistic workshops related to the performances.
